For over 50 years, Elliotts has been innovating and designing new products to meet the needs of our customers, and our brand new ArcSafe® AmpShield™ Arc Flash Face Shield is the ‘what’s next’ in arc flash protection.
Harnessing the latest revolutionary technology the ArcSafe® AmpShield™ Arc Flash Face Shield now offers users full-colour recognition and improved visibility. The grey-coloured, highly transparent face shield now offers an alternative to the traditional green arc flash face shield.
Traditional face shields use a green-tinted shield to absorb the infrared light generated in the event of an arc flash. The green colour is actually a by-product of different dyes used, and the higher the PPE CAT protection level required the darker the green tint needed to be. This made it very difficult to see and differentiate colours such as yellow and white, as well as it decreased visibility in low light or in confined spaces.
The development of this new technology allows a grey-coloured, highly transparent face shield without the need for green dyes. This virtually colourless technology allows users to see the full colour spectrum without distortion, whilst also increasing visibility.
The new ArcSafe® AmpShield™ Arc Flash Face Shield
Design and Features
The new ArcSafe® AmpShield Arc Flash Face Shield has a highly transparent grey colour with improved optical properties. The ArcSafe® AmpShield™ has a scientifically proven ability of colour recognition. It closely follows the Lambda curve of the human eye to allow colour recognition across the visible spectrum. By capitalising on the inherent capacity of the human eye, our product complements the natural ability of the eye to see colours.
Levels of Protection
Keeping with Elliotts’ promise of providing the highest quality of safety wear, the ArcSafe® AmpShield™ Face Shield meets the Short Circuit ARC Class 2 rating to GS-ET-29:2001-05 and 14cal/cm2 rating to ASTM F2178 for use in NFPA 70E-2015 for PPE Category 2 protection level. This face shield is also certificated to the EN 166 certification as well as ANSI-ISEA Z87.1-2017.
Provides Better Comfort and Protection
The ArcSafe® AmpShield™ Face Shield offers wearers an ergonomic, low-profile transparent chin protector that increases the field of view for the wearer as well as provides additional arc flash protection.
It also includes a cap bracket with a slotted adaptor to fit selected hard hats. The adjustable slotted adaptor allows workers to comfortably adjust the position of the face shield when not in use or exposed to risk.
This face shield also has the option to add our new StreamLight® Flashlight on either side of the face shield. This flashlight is designed to provide high-intensity illumination in low-light areas or when working up close. Designed to be used with our ArcSafe® Lift Front Hoods and ArcSafe® AmpShield™ Face Shields and comes with an articulated light mount. ATPV 50 cal/cm2.
