Mark Pollard

Job Title: Western Region Manager

Your Role: My role as the Western Region Manager is to service all customers being distributors to end users with all their enquiries for Elliotts’ range of products. This involves product presentations, sales training, cataloguing, and quoting for contracts, relationship building with existing / new customers, qualifying of new distribution networks and promoting new products and technologies in the specialised PPE field.

How long have you been working with Elliotts for? 2 years.

How long have you been in the Safety/Manufacturing Industry for? I have been involved in the Safety/Manufacturing industry for 15 years. 7 Years with specialist manufacturers and 8 years within the sales side of distribution.

What is the best aspect of your job? Firstly, it would have to be the people that I work with at Elliotts. We are working with the same goals and ethos and with a team that are all willing to support each other no matter the role held. Secondly, it would be being able to provide solutions to our customer’s situations of need. Having such specialised and premium products available in our range and also the reputation of the Elliott branding standing for quality and high level protection garments, we are always able to strive for a suitable solutions to answer our customers’ situations professionally.

What do you do when not working? Since becoming a father for the first time just over a year ago, spending time with my family is so very important to me. I also love my AFL footy and still like to run around the park having a kick reminiscing of my past playing days. Fishing is my great hobby; I find it to be the most stress free, relaxing thing to do. Even if I am not catching anything, you cannot beat having a line in the water.

What is your favourite Elliotts Product and why? I do have a soft spot for hand protection and Elliotts now have a sensational range of Mechanical and Technical style gloves (MecFlex & G-Flex) available. This range is the only gloves in the world to be certified to Australian standards (AS/NZS2161.3:2005) and CE standards by SAI global. My favourite product is the ChemTech range of chemical protection coveralls. With the harsh chemicals used especially in the mining industry, having a coverall that provides ultimate chemical protection and is FRAS (Flame Retardant Anti-Static) and yet is comfortable for the wearer all adds up to a great product. With the use of five layers of breathable fabric manufactured specifically for the requirements of chemical splash protection, that can be reused over and over again, I feel that its use and cost effectiveness is a great asset to any end user where the application of chemical protection is required.
